What You Can Edit Now

LaunchPass pages are flexible. You can change most settings after publishing.

Always Editable (No Restrictions)

These fields can be changed anytime:

  • ✅ Welcome channel (Discord)

  • ✅ Business name

  • ✅ Offer name

  • ✅ Offer URL (your signup page link)

  • ✅ Billing frequency

  • ✅ Currency

  • ✅ Page description

  • ✅ Images and branding

  • ✅ Pricing (with caution)

  • ✅ Free trial settings

  • ✅ Coupon settings

No impact on existing members. Changes only affect new signups.

Limited Editing (Has Restrictions)

This field has rules:

  • ⚠️ Role to assign (Discord): Cannot edit if you have active subscribers

Why the restriction? Changing roles would break access for current members. Discord would need to remove old role and add new role. This could cause problems

.

Cannot Edit (Never Changeable)

These fields are permanent:

  • ❌ Platform (Discord, Slack, or Telegram)

  • ❌ Community connection (which server/workspace)

To change these: Must create new LaunchPass page.

  1. Log in to your LaunchPass dashboard

  2. See list of your pages/offers

  3. Find the page you want to edit

Step 2: Click Edit

  1. Next to page name, see "Edit" button

  2. Click Edit

No need to republish. Changes are instant.

Discord: Using Existing Channels and Roles

Welcome Channel (Discord)

What it does: Where members land when they first join your Discord.

Two options:

Option A: Select Existing Channel

  1. Open edit page

  2. Find "Welcome Channel" field

  3. Click dropdown menu

  4. See all your Discord channels listed

  5. Select the one you want

Option B: Create New Channel

  1. Find "Welcome Channel" field

  2. Type a new channel name

  3. LaunchPass creates it automatically

  4. Channel is public (everyone sees it)

  5. Only LaunchPass bot can post

  6. Members cannot send messages

When to use existing:

  • You have perfect welcome channel already

  • Multiple tiers send everyone to same welcome

  • Want consistent onboarding across all offers

When to create new:

  • Each tier needs separate welcome message

  • Want clean separation between tiers

  • Starting fresh Discord server

What happens when you change it:

Old members: No impact. They already joined.

New members: Go to new welcome channel you selected.

Example:

You had #premium-welcome. You change to #general-welcome.

  • Old premium members: Stay wherever they are

  • New premium members: Land in #general-welcome

  • Both work fine

Role to Assign (Discord)

What it does: The role LaunchPass gives members when they pay.

Two options:

Option A: Select Existing Role

  1. Open edit page

  2. Find "Role to Assign" field

  3. Click dropdown

  4. See all your Discord roles

  5. Select one

All your Discord roles appear in dropdown automatically.

Option B: Create New Role

  1. Find "Role to Assign" field

  2. Type a new role name

  3. LaunchPass creates it in your Discord

  4. Role is basic (no special permissions yet)

  5. You customize it in Discord settings after

When to use existing:

  • You set up roles already in Discord

  • Want specific permissions/color/position

  • Multiple tiers share same role

  • You know exactly what role you need

When to create new:

  • Starting from scratch

  • Want LaunchPass to handle everything

  • Each tier needs unique role

CRITICAL LIMITATION:

Cannot change role if you have active subscribers.

Why? Changing role would:

  • Remove old role from current members

  • Cause them to lose access

  • Break your community structure

Workaround if you need to change:

  1. Create new LaunchPass page with correct role

  2. Share new page with new signups

  3. Keep old page for existing members

  4. Or manually change roles in Discord (risky)

Best practice: Pick the right role before publishing. If unsure, create new role through LaunchPass. You can customize it in Discord after.

Example Setup

Scenario: Trading Discord with two tiers

Bronze Tier Page:

  • Welcome Channel: #welcome (existing, shared)

  • Role to Assign: @Bronze (existing role you made)

  • Bronze members see: #general, #bronze-signals

Gold Tier Page:

  • Welcome Channel: #welcome (same, shared)

  • Role to Assign: @Gold (existing role you made)

  • Gold members see: #general, #bronze-signals, #gold-signals, #gold-voice

Both tiers land in same welcome channel. But roles control what they see.

Slack: Using Existing Private Channels

Welcome Channel (Slack)

What it does: Private channel where members land after signup.

Two options:

Option A: Select Existing Channel

  1. Open edit page

  2. Find "Welcome Channel" field

  3. Click dropdown

  4. See your existing private channels

  5. Select one

Note: Only shows PRIVATE channels. Public channels won't appear.

Option B: Create New Channel

  1. Type new channel name in field

  2. LaunchPass creates private channel

  3. Members are added automatically

When to use existing:

  • You have welcome channel already

  • Multiple tiers use same welcome

  • Want to reuse existing structure

When to create new:

  • Each tier needs separate welcome

  • Starting fresh Slack workspace

  • Want clean separation

Selling Access to Channels (Slack)

What it does: Up to 50 private channels members get when they pay.

Two options:

Option A: Select Existing Channels

  1. Open edit page

  2. Find "Channels to Sell Access To" field

  3. Click dropdown

  4. See your existing private channels (up to 50)

  5. Select channels you want

Members who sign up get added to all selected channels.

Option B: Create New Channels

  1. Type new channel names in field

  2. LaunchPass creates them as private

  3. Members are added on signup

Limitation: Max 50 channels per page

If you need more than 50, create multiple tiers.

When to use existing:

  • Channels are set up already

  • Content is ready to go

  • You organized structure already

When to create new:

  • Starting from scratch

  • Want LaunchPass to set everything up

  • Clean slate approach

What happens when you change channels:

Old members: Keep access to old channels

New members: Get access to new channels only

To give old members new access: Add them manually in Slack.

Example Setup

Scenario: Business coaching Slack

Basic Tier:

  • Welcome Channel: #new-members (existing)

  • Channels: #general, #questions, #resources (3 total)

Premium Tier:

  • Welcome Channel: #new-members (same, shared)

  • Channels: #general, #questions, #resources, #coaching, #accountability, #templates (6 total)

Both see same welcome. Premium gets 3 extra channels.

Business Name, Offer Name, and Offer URL

These three fields give you branding control.

Business Name

What it does: Your overall business/brand name on signup page.

Examples:

  • "Crypto Trading Academy"

  • "Jane Smith Coaching"

  • "Premium Reseller Group"

Where it appears:

  • Top of signup page

  • Payment confirmation

  • Member invoices

Can edit anytime. No restrictions.

When to change:

  • Rebranding your business

  • Fixing typo

  • Want more professional name

Example:

Started with "Joe's Trading Tips" → Changed to "Elite Trading Signals"

Old members: See old name in their history

New members: See new name on page

Offer Name

What it does: Specific name of this tier/offer.

Examples:

  • "Bronze Membership"

  • "Premium Access"

  • "VIP Coaching Package"

  • "Monthly Signals"

Where it appears:

  • Signup page headline

  • Member dashboard

  • Subscription details

Can edit anytime. No restrictions.

When to change:

  • Better name for marketing

  • Clarifying what offer includes

  • Matching other tiers

  • Fixing typo

Example:

Started with "Paid Members" → Changed to "Gold Tier Members"

Much clearer what they're getting.

Offer URL

What it does: The link people use to find your signup page.

Format: launchpass.com/your-custom-url

Examples:

  • launchpass.com/trading-signals

  • launchpass.com/coaching-vip

  • launchpass.com/crypto-alerts

Can edit anytime. Changes URL automatically.

When to change:

  • Want better URL for branding

  • Shortening long URL

  • Matching business rebrand

  • Making it easier to remember

IMPORTANT: If you change URL, old links break.

What to do after changing:

  1. Update website links

  2. Update social media bios

  3. Update email signatures

  4. Tell members about new link

  5. Update any ads or promotions

Old URL: Stops working (shows error)

New URL: Works immediately

Example:

Old: launchpass.com/joes-group-2024

New: launchpass.com/elite-trading

Anyone clicking old link gets error. Must share new link everywhere.

What Happens When You Edit Settings

Editing Welcome Channel

Old members: No change. They already joined.

New members: Land in new welcome channel.

Use case: You realize different channel makes better first impression.

Editing Business or Offer Name

Old members: Their past invoices show old name.

New members: See new name on signup page.

Member dashboard: Usually updates to new name.

Use case: Rebranding or fixing mistakes.

Editing Offer URL

Old link: Stops working completely.

New link: Works immediately.

Member subscriptions: Not affected (they're already in).

Use case: Better branding or shorter URL.

Critical: Update all shared links after changing.

Editing Pricing

Old members: Keep their original price (grandfathered).

New members: Pay new price.

Use case: Raising prices but rewarding early supporters.

Editing Slack Channels

Old members: Keep access to old channels.

New members: Get access to new channels only.

To sync: Manually add old members to new channels in Slack.

Platform Differences

Discord Flexibility

Most flexible:

  • Change welcome channel anytime

  • Select from all existing channels

  • Select from all existing roles

  • Create new roles or channels

  • Multiple pages can share channels

One limitation:

  • Cannot change role if active subscribers

Slack Flexibility

Very flexible:

  • Change welcome channel anytime

  • Select from private channels only

  • Up to 50 channels per page

  • Create new channels easily

  • Multiple pages can share welcome channel

Limitations:

  • Public channels cannot be selected

  • Max 50 channels per page

  • Cannot auto-remove from channels (manual only)

Telegram Flexibility

Less flexible:

  • One group or channel per page

  • Cannot select existing (always creates connection)

  • Welcome channel doesn't exist (one group)

  • Less granular control

Why? Telegram works differently. Simpler structure.

Trade-off: Easier setup but less customization.

When to Use Existing vs Create New

Use Existing When:

Discord Roles:

✅ You set up perfect role structure already

✅ Roles have specific permissions you want

✅ Role colors and positions matter

✅ Multiple tiers share roles

Discord Channels:

✅ Welcome channel works for all tiers

✅ You want consistent onboarding

✅ Channel has pinned messages already

✅ Saves creating duplicates

Slack Channels:

✅ Content is already there

✅ Channel names are perfect

✅ Structure is organized

✅ Multiple tiers share channels

Create New When:

Discord Roles:

✅ Starting fresh server

✅ Not sure what role you need

✅ Each tier needs unique role

✅ Want LaunchPass to handle it

Discord Channels:

✅ Each tier needs own welcome

✅ Want separation between offers

✅ Clean slate approach

✅ Customizing welcome messages per tier

Slack Channels:

✅ Starting from scratch

✅ Want organized structure

✅ Let LaunchPass do setup work

✅ Clean naming convention

Best Practices for Editing Pages

Before Publishing

Get it right first time:

  1. Choose correct role (Discord) before publishing

  2. Test welcome channel flow

  3. Double-check naming

  4. Verify URL is what you want

Why? Some things cannot change after (like role with subscribers).

After Publishing

Safe to edit:

  • Welcome channel (if better option appears)

  • Business/Offer names (rebrand anytime)

  • Descriptions and images

  • Pricing (for new members)

Edit with caution:

  • Offer URL (update all links after)

  • Channels (old members keep old access)

Cannot edit:

  • Role (if you have subscribers)

  • Platform type

  • Community connection

When Editing Live Page

Checklist:

  1. Make change in edit page

  2. Click save

  3. Test as new user (incognito browser)

  4. Verify new members see changes

  5. Check existing members still work

  6. Update external links if needed

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Mistake 1: Changing Role with Active Subscribers

What happens: Edit button is grayed out.

Why: Would break access for current members.

Solution: Cannot change. Must create new page with new role if needed.

Mistake 2: Changing URL Without Updating Links

What happens: All your shared links break.

Impact: People get errors trying to join.

Solution: Update links everywhere before announcing change.

Mistake 3: Selecting Public Channel in Slack

What happens: Public channels don't appear in dropdown.

Why: LaunchPass only works with private channels.

Solution: Make channel private in Slack first. Then select it.

Mistake 4: Expecting Old Members to Get New Channels

What happens: You add new Slack channels. Old members don't get them.

Why: Edits only affect new signups.

Solution: Manually add old members to new channels in Slack.

Mistake 5: Editing Role Name in Discord

What happens: Role disconnects from LaunchPass.

Why: LaunchPass looks for exact role name.

Solution: Keep role name same in Discord as in LaunchPass. Or use existing role selector.

Mistake 6: Deleting Welcome Channel

What happens: New members cannot join.

Why: LaunchPass tries to add them to deleted channel.

Solution: Change welcome channel in LaunchPass BEFORE deleting old one in Discord/Slack.

Troubleshooting Edit Issues

Issue 1: Cannot Edit Role Field

Symptom: Role dropdown is grayed out or disabled.

Cause: You have active subscribers.

Solution:

Option A: Keep current role (cannot change)

Option B: Create new page

  1. Make new LaunchPass page

  2. Set correct role

  3. Share new page going forward

  4. Keep old page for existing members

Issue 2: Channel Not Appearing in Dropdown

For Discord:

  • Refresh edit page (F5)

  • Check channel exists in Discord

  • Verify LaunchPass bot has permissions

  • Make sure channel isn't deleted

For Slack:

  • Check channel is PRIVATE (not public)

  • Refresh edit page

  • Verify channel exists in Slack

  • Check LaunchPass app has access

Issue 3: Changes Not Showing on Page

Cause: Browser cache or didn't save.

Solution:

  1. Did you click Save/Update button?

  2. Clear browser cache (Ctrl+F5)

  3. Try incognito/private browser

  4. Wait 1-2 minutes for changes to sync

Issue 4: Old URL Still Works

Cause: Browser cached old page.

Solution:

  1. Wait 5 minutes

  2. Try different browser

  3. Clear DNS cache

  4. Contact support if persists

Issue 5: Role Doesn't Assign After Edit

Cause: Role name mismatch or permissions.

Solution:

  1. Check role name matches exactly

  2. Verify LaunchPass bot role is above assigned role

  3. Check bot has "Manage Roles" permission

  4. Test with new signup

Advanced: Managing Multiple Tiers

Shared Welcome Channel Setup

Use case: All tiers use same welcome channel.

Setup:

  1. Create one welcome channel in Discord/Slack

  2. In each tier's page, select that same channel

  3. All new members land in same place

  4. Roles control what they see after

Benefits:

  • Consistent onboarding

  • One welcome message to maintain

  • Easier member management

  • Professional appearance

Example:

Bronze, Silver, Gold all use #welcome. After reading welcome, roles control access to tier-specific channels.

Separate Welcome Channels Setup

Use case: Each tier has unique onboarding.

Setup:

  1. Create #bronze-welcome, #silver-welcome, #gold-welcome

  2. Each tier's page selects its welcome channel

  3. Custom messages per tier

Benefits:

  • Personalized onboarding per tier

  • Different instructions per level

  • Clear separation

  • Upsell opportunities (show what higher tiers get)

Example:

Bronze sees: "Welcome Bronze members! Here's what you get..." Gold sees: "Welcome Gold members! You have premium access to..."

Shared Roles Setup (Advanced Discord)

Use case: Multiple pages assign same role.

Setup:

  1. Create role in Discord (like @Premium)

  2. Create two LaunchPass pages (monthly and annual)

  3. Both pages select @Premium role

  4. Members get same access regardless of payment frequency

Benefits:

  • One role to manage

  • Members can switch plans easily

  • Simpler permission structure

Example:

Monthly Premium page → @Premium role Annual Premium page → @Premium role

Both get identical access. Just different billing.
