Getting Started With Discord + LaunchPass

Step 1: Create a Discord Server

If you don't have one yet:

Go to Discord at https://discord.com
Click "+" button (bottom left)
Select "Create a server"
Name your server (your community name)
Choose a region (pick closest to your members)
Upload icon/banner (optional but recommended)
Create channels (general, announcements, etc.)
Set up permissions (roles, channel access)
Your server is ready

If you already have one:

You can use an existing Discord server
Easiest if it's not already public
You'll give LaunchPass access to manage it

Step 2: Connect Discord to LaunchPass

Link your Discord server:

Go to LaunchPass at https://launchpass.com
Click "Create Community" or "New Community"
Select "Discord" as your platform
Click "Connect Discord"
You'll go to Discord authorization page
Select your server from the dropdown
Click "Authorize"
Grant LaunchPass permissions (manage roles, members, etc.)
Return to LaunchPass (should be automatic)
Your Discord server is connected

What to do:

Wait 5 minutes - LaunchPass syncs, might just be delay
Refresh Discord - F5 or Cmd+R
Check member role - Is it set in LaunchPass?
Verify in LaunchPass dashboard - Does member show as active?
Check Discord permissions - Does role have channel access?

"Member Paid But Doesn't Have Access"

Check these things:

Was payment successful? - Look in Stripe
Is member active in LaunchPass? - Check dashboard

Do roles have channel access? - Check permissions

If payment succeeded but no Discord access:

Might be sync delay (wait 10 minutes)

"How Do I Remove Someone From Discord?"

Manual removal:

Go to your Discord server
Right-click member name
Select "Kick" or "Ban"
Confirm

Automatic removal:

LaunchPass removes them when payment fails
After payment retries are exhausted
Takes about 5-10 minutes to process
