  • Used to identify you

  • Won't change

  • Same across all servers

Troubleshooting

"I Don't See 'Copy ID' Option"

Why this happens:

  • Developer Mode is not enabled

  • Discord hasn't refreshed

  • Using old/outdated Discord version

What to do:

  1. Verify Developer Mode is ON

    • User Settings → Appearance → Developer Mode

    • Make sure toggle is blue/active

  2. Refresh Discord

    • Press F5 (Windows) or Cmd+R (Mac)

    • Or restart Discord completely

  3. Try right-clicking different things:

    • Try right-clicking a message

    • Try right-clicking in chat

    • Try right-clicking username

    • One of these should show the option

  4. Update Discord

    • Make sure you have latest version

    • Updates sometimes add/change features

  5. If still not working:

Why this happens:

  • Browser/app clipboard issue

  • Temporary glitch

  • Permissions issue

What to do:

  1. Try again

    • Right-click and "Copy ID" again

    • Sometimes glitches resolve on retry

  2. Try pasting

    • Use Ctrl+V (Windows) or Cmd+V (Mac)

    • See if ID appears

  3. Try different approach:

    • Copy a message ID instead

    • Copy server ID instead

    • See if copy function works at all

  4. Restart Discord

    • Close Discord completely

    • Reopen it

    • Try again

  5. Restart your computer

    • Sometimes OS clipboard gets stuck

    • Restart usually fixes it

"I See Numbers But I'm Not Sure If It's My ID"

How to verify it's correct:

  1. Copy ID again - Do it twice, should be same number

  2. Show to support - LaunchPass can confirm

  3. Check length - Should be about 16-18 digits

  4. Check format - Should be all numbers (no letters or symbols)

If you're unsure:

  • Very old Discord version

  • Bug in app

  • Different Discord client

What to do:

  1. Update Discord

    • Go to Discord website

    • Download latest version

    • Reinstall if needed

  2. Try Discord Web

  3. Restart and try again

    • Close Discord completely

Using It With Other Integrations

Third-party tools might use Discord ID for:

  • Analytics

  • Moderation tools

  • Custom bots

  • Webhooks

Each tool explains what they need. Just copy your ID and provide it.

Best Practices

Keeping Your ID Safe

Your Discord ID is NOT a secret. It's just a number that identifies you.

It's safe to share:

  • ✅ With LaunchPass support

  • ✅ With Discord support

  • ✅ With bots you trust

  • ✅ With integrations you're using

  • ✅ In public

It's NOT like a password:

  • Someone knowing your ID doesn't let them access your account

  • Can't hack you with just the ID

  • It's basically public information

That said: Don't share unnecessarily. Only give it when asked by trusted services.

Using ID in Tickets/Reports

When reporting to LaunchPass:

  1. Always include your Discord ID

  2. Include any member IDs (if reporting a member)

  3. Include your server ID (if relevant)

  4. Makes troubleshooting faster

  5. Reduces back-and-forth

Documenting Your IDs

Optional but helpful:

Save somewhere safe (for reference):

  • Your Discord ID

  • Your server ID

  • Your main channel IDs

Don't need to be secret, just for quick reference when support needs it.
