LaunchPass works on top of either Slack or Discord.

Both of these are platforms of communication. They contain channels that group owners create to share their content/product.

Wondering which platform to choose? This table is a summary of the features that each platform has (and doesn't have).

Slack

Discord

Auto kick

Only happens in private channel or paid channel invite pages. Slack currently doesn't allow us to automate kicking/deactivating from the entire workspace.

Fully automated. Members who cancel or are no longer paying gets kicked from the entire server.

Multi channel invite

Paid group invite pages allows access to all public channels.
Paid channel invite pages allows access to one private channel plus all other public channels.
So essentially, Slack only allows one private channel per invite.

Roles can be assigned to channels so that one invite page can provide access to multiple channels.

Automated invite

After signing up members receive an email invite which they'll need to accept to be routed to the group.

After signing up members are routed to the server. In case they didn't, they can use the 'Generate a New Invite' link on the welcome email.

Number of owners

One workspace creates one LaunchPass account. Only the primary owner can link their bank/card info for payouts. Splitting of funds need to be handled outside of LaunchPass.
